There's a boarding veterinary clinic right by here and I have been having problems with their noise. I'm up at 4AM right now, because I've been waken up by the continuous barking from the clinic. Their ventilation duct to the animal staying area just happens to face my window so I'm affected worse than anyone else.
If this was a neighbor's dog, the city would be right on their case by noise ordinance, but there is a loop hole and the business owner is not very cooperative.
After having talked to them numerous times, they basically say "we were here before you guys, we aren't deliberately making noise and we'll do our best, but other than that too bad". They claim I'm the only one who has ever complained about this issue, but neighbors tell me otherwise.
I contacted the city noise complaint. I was told animal noise is outside of their jurisdiction and to call the animal control.
I contacted the aninal control. They said they're in charge of regulating animal noise, however the clinic is conveniently exempted under "kennels or similar facilities" exemption clause.
I called up the city's zoning and development to verify the zoning. Apparently the clinic's lot is grandfathered as "commercial use".
Is there anything else I can do?
