Calling guitar experts

I need a ukulele for it though. I saw a bunch here for cheap:

I do not need a great one, just one that will be sufficient. It will be just to mess around with on occasion. Any suggestions? Or should I just get the cheapest one on one of those sites that I can find?

Yes, I know. But I figured that there are more guitar experts than ukulele experts. And I am sure plenty would have some idea to help answer my question.

There's not really a middle of the road Uke...you're going to find cheapees and high end ones. Spend $100 on one and it'll suit your needs.

Would a $40 on work? It is really only one occasion I need it for. I really only need the base minimum that will play.
