EDIT: C'mon, nobody wants to guesstimate how much lighter the aluminum block will be? 50lbs? 100lbs?
I was reading this article on Mitsu's next gen MIVEC, which will have an aluminum block instead of the current iron block.
It says that it'll be at least 10% lighter, but I don't know how much the iron-block weighs. Does anyone know or have an educated guess?
Also, is an aluminum block as strong as an iron block when it comes to handling boost?
