Hey all,
Just dropped an XP-120 into my LanBoy with a fan that has UV reactive blades. Doesn't the SuperLanBoy have a little groove on the back corner where you can easily attach one of those CFFL tubes or whatever they are? Pardon me if I'm using the wrong terms.
I'm interested in putting a UV tube in there, so I would appreciate any suggestions on what type to buy; I've seen dozens of different types of UV kits and whatnot. Help me, I'm confoosed!

Also, are there any kind of mods or window replacements where I can add some kind of ventilation? My XP-120 isn't blowing my socks off and I'm curious about adding some extra ventilation.

If anyone else has any other cool cosmetic or functional suggestions for the SuperLanBoy, post here!! :)

Do you mean those cold cathode fluroscent tubes? Some owners of those CCFT's claim that the built in transformers could possibly pose a fire hazzard. I then purchased Antec LED mini lights to go on the inside of the case and underneath my monitor for a nice glow on my keyboard. Heck, its a lot cheaper than buying the Eluminex Lighted Keyboard @ $70. It also doesn't produce heat and is power efficient.

BTW, are there any sweet pictures of these Antec Super Lanboys and their cabling? I'm having a problem of efficiently routing my cables. Those Ultra X-Connect Power Supply Cables are very rigid.

Check out my pix. I have heavily modified my superlanboy. These pix are old, and only show the major modifications. THey do not include the YateLoon D12SL fan swap for the rear fan, and the ZM80D on my "new" Radeon 9800pro 256. But you will get the idea...

I have exchanged the Pioneer slot load with a Pioneer A08XL. I have gotten a 5.25" bezel that I personally designed, and had a friend at work mill out - to cover the harddrive.

This is just about the best I could do with rounded cables. Long standard ribbon cables can get you farther.

Here is my suspended Raptor. The modification of removing the entire harddrive bay, and cutting out the grillework improved airflow heavily. Opening up the middle 5.25" bay improved temperature by 4C.

This is kinda how it looks from the window in. Again, i have a ZM80D now with a Panaflo. I have not figure out a way to hide the molex cable going to the 9800pro 256...

That is sweet Tiamat! Do you have a modular PSU or did you just route all those cables REALLY efficiently? Right now mine looks like a rat's nest w/the Antec True430 in there, too many damn cables!! Any tips you have would be great

Kane, the mini-LCD's sound like a good idea; the only catch is that I was hoping to use UV reactive stuff in there for some prettiness :p

Anyone have any other info on the CCFTs? Thanks!!

I have the antec TrueBlue 480. It took a long time to think of how to rout the cables. As you can see, the 20pin ATX connector is routed and tucked between the psu and the rear fan. The cables i do not use are tucked above the psu in the 1 cm space. The cables I do use are taped with electrical tape across the top of the case, and plug both the Top hdd and the optical drive and the fan controller. I have one other molex chain going down the side of the case hiding behind the 5.25" bays, and 3.5" bays to give power to my suspended hdd and my now radeon 9800pro.

My SLB with side off.

I was at PDXLAN 4.05 this past weekend and I got comments on how clean my cabling job was. With the side on, you see even less cabling.

For a typical 12" cold cathodes, the only place you can put them would be on the bottom, along the window edge.

Tiamat, thanks for those sweet pics of your modded Lanboy. Hey! you're that guy with the bungie suspended raptor. Its a very innovative idea to maximize airflow but how would it be stabilized when you take your rig to lan parties?

That is a nice cabling job, both of you!
I had already stuffed a couple cables above the PSU, I'll try to get more of them up there. Running them behind the 5.25" bays is a good idea, I'll try that.

No lan parties for me, Im a chemical Engineer major :(

When transporting the box, i remove the hdds anyways. Always have, always will. Ive seen too many failed harddrives when people ship their box with hdd still screwed into the case.

all nice cable jobs there, but i got 5 hard drives, 6 fans, and two optical drives in my box, oh and the floppy, there are so many wires in my case it is hard to fix them, i had it looking nice before i put in the new power supply, but now it just looks like a rats nest, if i get a chance i will post pics, my son's case looks good (he is 3) well i think it is going to be for Christmas
