Pffft, that ain't nothin' when you have the right tools for the job.

I just wrap it with a towel when doing the tub's drain. Plug the vent with another towel. No concern if there's a little leakage, since it's in the tub after all. I'm in no hurry to spend money on chemicals, if I can git 'er done free!
 
This is very easy.

Get a wire hanger and straighten it out, leaving a very small hook on one end.

Remove any screen coverig the drain, and fish around in the drain. Slide the hanger in until it stops, and pull it straight out. Do this repeatedly to remove the clumps of hair and goo.

I've been doing this for years and there has been no shower or tub drain I could not clear.
