CALLING ALL NERDS: What are your strategies in chess?

Tediously wear down my opponent with positional play, crack my knuckles when he is thinking, cough incessently when I am not working my knuckles, stand behind the player when it is his turn (coughing and cracking knuckles) . . . and when he is completely distracted and I am finally winning and see him make a weak move, let out a snicker.

😀

i like to take control of center as soon as possible. first move is usually the king's pawn, it forces them to react rather than act. knights before bishops, in almost any case. castle early and take open field with both rooks, knights in center, and use bishops to block knights. move the queen out later so you don't waste moves if she's threatened.

I don't really have a method to my play, but it goes along with the general "control the center" kind of thing. It all comes really easily to me, both chess and chinese chess (not the stupid jumpy-over-thingy, the REAL chinese chess.)

Maybe I'll go play a game on Yahoo, you've sparked some interest for the evening. 🙂
