I just wanted to mention that Team Anandtech eccP is barely holding onto second place. Every cycle counts at this point. Help us out!

I'd like to welcome the new members to the team. You are now officially allowed to go to the distributed computing forum. Don't forget the password is "Beer and babes" 😉

As for everybody else, please just stop by and take a look around, most everybody will find a project that will catch there interest and help team anandtech out, along with society.

I had seti@home for a while, then my harddrive got deleted and I never downloaded again, should I join team anandtech this time? Oh and will my scores be added to the total score of the team? or will it start from when I joined?

If you still have the email address you had when you signed up, then you can get your password, keep your old WU's and when you join team anandtech, they should go with you.

Absolutely, we'd love to have you join us! If you start crunching again under the same email address, any new credit will added to your old credit. Drop in the DC forum if you have any other questions. 🙂

I joined over the weekend and the quest to assimilate more machines is already starting. I am contacting members of my family and friends to let me load seti@home on their machines. This is fun. Checking your stats each day, trying to figure out how to squeeze a WU from a PII 233 with 64MB, and other things just make it interesting.

Join the fun and help Team Anandtech take over the white shirt blue ties from IBM.

Good to hear!

I assimilated a friend's P2 233 and it only has 32MB RAM... getting it under 30 hours is tricky!!!

And help us keep those DSLR folks in our dust!!!

GO TA! 😀

I know how it is, Crazee. 😀 I initially set up SETI@Home on my Athlon 800 rig (Which I upgraded to a 1.4) and then I started tracking down other machines I could assimilate. A friend of mine runs a video game store with a pay-to-play LAN, and he let me assimilate all twelve of their gaming machines. 😀

My latest assimilation is a laptop I just got a couple of days ago to use in Uni. It is working on its first WU now, but I have been too busy updating the software and such to get a good benchmark on it for this first WU. I should be done in time to do it for the second one, though.

Be sure to stop in at the Distributed Computing Forums and say "Hi." 😀

Good to hear Crazee🙂

The fastest for running SETI is I think the Athlon XP with DDR RAM ,though the P4 with RDRAM comes a close 2nd ,for a much better answer😉 ,post a new thread about it in the DC forum section ,you'll get loads of more detailed responses🙂

oh btw ,my Ath XP @ 1.45GHz with DDR RAM does most WU's in about 3hrs 45mins 🙂 (thats with KT266a chipset)

Back when I had the old Socket 7 system it wasn't quite as worthwhile to run this (although I did anyway at one point), but now I have a good old Tbird, so maybe I'll download seti and join TA. 🙂

id really hate to see dsl pass us........they are close and are perdicted to pass within days......lets get some heavy o/cers into the race and see what your rig can do...

They just had a couple of guys with 30,000 between them re-join their team. 🙁 Now our lead is cut to about 50,000 WU's. 🙁

RSI, we'd love to have you join us!

DSL Reports has made a major push to overtake us, and we need all the support we can get. If you enjoy reading AnandTech, show your support by joining TeAm AnandTech. 🙂
