Money is no object just want to know which you would pick and why...

I am looking to either pickup a Glock or a DE .50

Which would you pick and why? Also if Glock which model?

Looking for a weekend shooter and home defence.

I'd pick the Glock because Desert Eagles are practically useless. I'd recommend the model 22 .40, because the .40 cal is the ideal middle-of-the-road caliber (high capacity + knockdown power).

2nd badruth's comments. The DE's are pretty much hollywood guns. They are fun but not practical.

Desert Eagle is junk, it's a showpiece, not a shooter. I think you can do MUCH better than a Glock, especially if money is no object. Go for whatever model fits your hand best in either .40S&W or .45, 9mm is a womens gun.

No, unless everybody else's 'r' keys were broken...which would have to be some sort of worldwide conspiracy somehow targeting me...

I am happy with my Glock 21c (.45 compensated). I agree with GagHalfrunt about seeing what fits in your hand. Go to a local range and try a few if you are not sure.

A friend of mine has a Glock 22 - I've put more than a few rounds through it..no complaints. :)

To be fair I didn't pay one cent for mine, but I'd still recommend it...even to someone who had to buy one. ;)

I don't have my 9mm anymore, but I wouldn't encourage you to step in front of the 9mm Hydrashock I carried while on duty.

I wouldn't encourage you to step in front of a .22, a high-powered pellet gun or even a well thrown dart. That doesn't change the fact that the 9mm is badly underpowered compared to a .45 or .40 S&W
