How is that a guitar question?

because it routes your voice through the pickups... :disgust:

and someone who doesnt play guitar likely isnt going to know much about it...being as a guitarist is the only person who would use it...

A talk box is:

A small amp whos speaker is connected to a tube. The tube is fed into your mouth, where you shape the sound. The vocal mic then picks this up and amps it through the PA.

Its very simple to make.

Small amped speaker --> connected to a flexible tube --> mouth --> mic

I had one some years back. It was a long plastic tube that fed into a large metal box, and you plugged your guitar into it, then your effect pedals would go after that. I remember the tube also had some suction to it if I'm not mistaken (there was definately air blowing out of the box).

It was a terribly unsanitary device. Also, NEVER EAT OREO COOKIES BEFORE USING ONE OF THESE!!!! If you do, you might as well replace the tub. I think they have pedals to simulate that sound with a mic now.
