I think you've figured out that there's lots of happy Epox owners.

I'm on my third and fourth after upgrading two solid 8k7a's to an 8kha+ and just recently an 8k9a2+.

Cant say enough nice things about them. solid and reliable for me

ditto. Former owner of an 8KHA+ and current owner of 8RDA+. Before that I was also mainly asus with a P4B266, CUSL2, and TUSL2, as well as building many A7V and A7V133 systems for friends and family.

Having used EPoX, Abit, ASUS, etc for several years, I will be inclined to the EPoX. Reliable, Stable and OC friendly makes it the best choice. My EP-8K7A+ have been thru 3 diff cases in over 1.5 years and still 100% solid....

My 8rda+ is now @ 200 fsb x11.5 = 2.3ghz. Running prime 95 now and seems stable so far. Just cracked 14k on 3dmk2001se with a ti4200 :)

originally had the 8k7a, upgraded to a 8k3a, and now thinking about the 8rda, you can tell where I would lean to :)

after doing some research for the last few days i've decided to pick up a 8RDA+ to build my new pc with...here's the embarassing confession - i've never overclocked before <hangs head in shame>

this will only be the 2nd pc i've ever built...about 18 months ago i built my first pc...soyo dragon+ with an xp 1800+...after buying a new video card last week i realized i've got everything laying around to build a new system except for the mobo & cpu

here are my questions:

1) which cpu should i go with? i keep reading that the xp 2100+ is a great overclocker, but i keep reading about revisions or series...can someone explain this please...and is this one at newegg the one i should order ??

2) heatsink/fan - please recommend a good heat sink/fan that will work well with with this mobo/cpu combination...i'd prefer something fairly quiet if possible (and if newegg carries it that would be even better)

the rest of my key components:
antec sx-835ii case (350W PS)
256MB DDR from Crucial x2
PNY GForce4 ti4200 128MB
200GB WD 8MB drive

i've read a bunch of threads here and over at amdmb, if anyone can point out any other good faq's or install guides for this mobo i'd love to take a look at them

thanks in advance
