Calling All Arachnologists: Help Me Identify This Spider

DISCLOSURE: If you hate spiders the images below might (most likely will) cause you discomfort, nightmares, etc.

I saw this while mowing yesterday and watched for a few minutes:

The little guy struggled to hold on as he tried to carry the spider and eventually fell in the grass. After dragging his 8-legged payload he left it. I haven't seen one of these so I snapped some pics so I could identify it, but so far I have failed to come up with anything definitive. That's where I'm hoping ATOT can help out.

And just for extra creep material:

Thanks, this has been bugging me.

Closeup pics of bugs are pretty cool. There are so many details, such as hair, that you don't really notice that much with the naked eye.

My son found this in the garden. Its a fairly common type of weevil but I took a snap of it with my phone.

That makes me wonder, if there are aliens out there, could they possibly be insects, but much bigger, like our size? That would be freaky!

Spiders especially look like something from an alien movie when you get very up close. They have so many eyes! They see everything, and they WILL eat you in your sleep.

Our earth had insects the size of humans millions of years ago.

The wasp looking thing is a T-Hawk or tarantula hawk, the spider is essentially a baby tarantula.

Both are mostly harmless but equally badass.
