CALLING ALL ANANDTECHERS, I NEED YOUR HELP

Okay, here's the story...

I go to a boarding school in the new england area, and every year we have a discovery program where your supposed to 'make a discover' (learn something new) through a different type of learning experience then normal. One of my good friends wants to go on a tirp to England and France. The cost for this trip is $2650, and she can put forth about $400 of it and that is streching it. She is a junior who is an awesome student. She works really really hard in life, and she is on scholarship ot the school. Unfortuantely this scholarship does not cover the 'discovery program'. I'm trying to help her raise money so that she can go on this once in a lifetime experience. I'm not really looking for any individual contributions, but if any one of you have any corporate contacts, maybe in a pr or advertising department (even higher up would be good 😉 ) or work at a company/corporation youself and are looking for some way to get a tax break then maybe we coudl work out a deal that is good for all of us. I can offer only publicity for you and since it is a school, the donation is completely tax deductible (IANAL so you'll obviously have to go through our development office but I can put everyone in touch) Of course you'll also have the satisfaction of helping out someone who wouldn't be able to make this amazing trip otherwise. If it makes any difference, the school is located in the Connecticut area, and both my friend, myself, and any school officals would be happy to meet with you in person to discuss this further.

Thank you all very much in advance for you help, I can be contacted by PM, email at elmotheNO)*&^SPAMmouth@aol.com or by aol instant messenger at Mrdzone

On a quick readthrough I falied to mention that the trip is educational, and there will be worked produced from it to show that (journal entries etc...) also the trip does have a THEATRE focus somewhat, we will be visiting Shakespeare's birthplace and seeing shows in both england and paris, so any theatre troups out there, this would be great publicity for you too...

Remember, it's only polite--if you read you bump!

Wow....most people usually tell me thier car broke down or that they ran out of gas when they hit me up for money. I'm confused....

Edit: Bump for a noble cause. 😛

LOL as per my thread a while back.

Tell her it's not once in a life time. She can go when she's older unless she has terminal cancer. Can't pay for it now, kinda sucks, but life isn't over. She'll be able to pay in the future.

She worked all summer, but her family is in a tight situation after a divorce and she uses her money to put clothes or her back...
I wouldn't turn to y'all if I didn't have any other resource come on guys!

Guess this isn't her time to go then. A trip to Europe is a big luxury that plenty of working people can't afford

Well that is why I'm trying to help her out, just asking any soul with a connection to pass it on...

Skoorb said it. I wish I could go to Europe, but I have to stay here and work on my college education and prepare an LDAP directory with roughly 20,000 users and more than 45 attributes per entry. Tell her that if she learns how to do that efficiently and maintain it, she can save up and buy a flat in England.

True enough.

Plus, she'd appreciate it much, much more when she's older anyway.

p.s. Older = actually out of HS (I'm assuming that your boarding school is a high school).

Get me a software development contract with the school and I'll consider it. Otherwise, what little money I have (after being unemployed for 5 months) is going to my girls' Christmas.

As I said in my original post, I'm not looking for individual donations mainly people with corporate contacts or in a corporate position... I don't want to take any little girl's christmas money-- I'm not cruel.

He charges lots of stuff, ask him...

I just realized....he purchased that page through Register.com... He's just a scammer trying to make extra coin off idiots. I hope he doesn't make a dime and wasted $100 a year on that site. 😉
I purchased my first two domains off register.com for ~$30/year back in the late 90's when they cost a bit more. I will never use them again.

people appreciate stuff they earn more than gifts, in my experience

gifts benefit the giver a lot more than the givee
