For an ATOTer, the smell of burning electronics probably raises the same fears as sati does in India.

i've called the non emergency number for a burning smell before
they sent someone with an infrared viewing device within 5 minutes.
he discovered some track lighting that apparently shorted out and was hot and melting the wire inside the ceiling.
