Got the last one around my area. It's a display model without manual inside. Can anyone provide any information where I can download the manual online? Or if somebody in Chicago area can generously allow me have a copy. Really appreciate.

I went to 2 RS's in my area, only to find them all gone. Had a clerk check the inventory in the computer for the whole area, and an adjacent area. Whenever he found any he called the store for me, and none of the stores showing them in stock actually had them (inventory glitches somehow). Anyways he was told everybody's been calling and asking for these, so I guess the word is out and if you stumble across any you are lucky indeed.

Anyone else notice that the current temp. on the caller id box is incorrect? I have 2 hooked up & both indicate 2-3 degrees hotter than any other therm. sitting right next to them, including the remotes. Wonder if there is a way to tune it.

I checked mine with 2 other digital thermometers and it was within + or - 1 degree of the others...

The temperature of the caller id unit seems to be 2-3 degrees hotter.
The unit is pretty big and might be might store alot of heat from the object it is standing on(my case a big wooden desk).
This thing might produce 2-3 degreees of heat too.
I'm going to dangel both mid-air for a few hours to see if the temperature matches more with wireless unit.

Tried pretty hard to find one around Evanston, and the closest store with any is in Waukegan (too far for me...). Note that the item number is CID-939, not CID-930 as was mentioned previously. The 930 is just a caller id unit w/out the temperature. Also, ask for it by catalog number (43-939). If anyone here has extra let me know and we can work something out. Good luck!

Arrrgh, mine only works for 5 days, now either the external sensor is not transmitting or the receiver isn't picking up as the external temperature only shows as "- - -".
I've replaced the batteries, reset several times and also tried at different ID with no result :(

Anybody knows how to debug this connectivity problem?

Jono,

Don't say that! I'm having mine delivered to me by a nice sales associate because of a mixup about picking it up from the store when he got it from another one. (Hehehe, he probably paid $3 to ship me a $10 item).

I hope everyone else's is still functioning properly (2-3 degrees aint that big of a deal)

There's only 5 left in the westside of Portland, OR (from downtown out to Hillsboro, not including Lloyd Center and east PDX). Each store has 1 in stock, so I'm assuming they're demos, returns, etc.

Going to try the east side of Portland.

How far can the wireless thermometer transit?

Great deal if you can get it. I work at a Radio Shack and this is not $9.99! It still rings up at $49.99. I am unsure of why, but no dice for me. Cost is even way up there. I will keep checking, but it looks like this may only work at certain stores. Maybe Corporate stores only? Ours is a locally owned store.

Did you unplug the base unit for a minute? My other wireless units have a keypress which causes them to search for new sensors, this one seems to only do it on powerup. If you lose connection to the sensor, the base won't find it again until the base is turned off and then back on. :(

Range sucks compared to the thermometer only units :(

But for $10 I got an extra sensor... :)
