This is why you wait for DX10 games to come out, read up what hardware pwns it ez and THEN buy the hardwarez!
owned</end quote></div>what do you suggest? i doubt a GTX ultra will do it with absoluetly everything that can be maxed, maxed fully ... at even 12x10
no single card on the DX10 pathway ... imagine it on a 2600 or 8600 series video card.
well, IF i keep my HD2900xt, you can be sure that i will get a second one
... i think X-fire's 2900xts will run it at 14x9 'maxed' except for the fancy new filtering ... and maybe only 2- or 4xAA
and it still looks beautiful on my GTS 640 OC ... full DX10 SM4.0 with the mid/low testures/HDR but ZeroAA/8xAF [trilinear AF is 8x, right?]
--and the jaggies don't bother me a bit
OF course i am SURE i can run it in DX9c with everything maxed ... i will try run the DX9 path in Vista and let you know
it is a Western ... for sure ... good voice acting ... good start
EDIT: actually, i got it running pretty good at 14x9, everything 'medium' [and may still be adjust individual settings upward], DX10, HDR, and probably 4xAF and zeroAA ... looks really nice at these settings ...
tomorow i will play it on my 2900xt ... but so far the game is telling a story very nicely ... and the controls are good. Cast of characters filling in ...
--back to CoJ
UPDATE:
OK, back ... it is awesome with everything maxed in DX9c with 4xAA/16xAF ... i prefer the DX9 pathway for performance vs. visuals of dx10
. . . after all they are SHOOTING at you! ...
i think this will be something like FarCry ... it still challenges video cards ... and in a couple of years these games will run really well on midrange HW - then.
