Call of Duty & United Offensive PROBLEMS

HI There, has anyone had any issues with call of duty or united offensive? Since a few weeks ago everything was fine. I play call of duty & UO online all the time but the last few weeks it either crashes or freezes on me every few minutes. I've tried it without service pack 2 and with, firewall enabled and disabled. I've tried disabling Data Execution Prevention for call of duty as well and still no luck. I've tried 2 graphics cards with it with the same results. A 9800XT and my new X800 XT PE and both have the same results. I've reinstalled windows four or five times with different updates and service packs on. I've also tried all the drivers available to an ATI graphics card, I've found that the older drivers from 2003 freeze now and again but my system keeps going and never crashes. But the newer the driver the worse the crash, my system locks up and a hardware restart is required. It can't be the cards!!!! I've heared that it may be something to do with service pack 2 but mine crashes without it installed as well.
