Call Of Duty-United Offensive, icons missing

I installed this game twice but I still can't see any icons in the menu. When I move the curser over the menu window it makes a clicking noise like the icons are there but I can't see them. When I click in those areas that make the clicking noise, another menu comes up with the icons missing also. Any help is appreciated.
