Give erwos the Cupie Doll! Infinity Ward just tweeted that the retail price for the Prestige Edition will be $149.99.

Also, the XBLA and PSN versions of COD will include multiplayer.

Joystiq. I'm at a loss for words. It even comes with a plastic head to mount the goggles on when not in use. :confused: Video of unboxing in link.

This can't be cheap if they actually sell this at retail.

AAHAHAHAH $200 for that at least but hey at least it comes with the original CoD which is an awesome game. Sucks that it doesn't come with the awesome expansion too as well.

There's no way this will be under $199.99, even if the goggles are cheap pieces of crap.

I hope they make tons of them so I can pick one up a few months after release at half price, because I doubt that many people will buy it.

So will this be like Halo 3 and Fallout where they have standard, collector, and insane editions? Like Halo's legendary edition and Fallout's survival edition or whatever Amazon called it. Cause I would totally buy a CE for MW2, but not something like that because as stated above, it will probably be over $150 for sure.

Yeah, there's also the collector's edition called "The Hardened Edition" for $80. It includes everything in the Prestige edition minus the goggles and head.

Yeah, I just read the article on IGN about it. The guy who wrote it is expecting the PE to be $100. I just don't see that happening. Hell, Halo 3's helmet edition cost $120, and I would guess it can't be lower than that.

Either way, Hardened Edition for me.

You won't bait and swtich with me again COD. I have more faith in Infinity Ward, but after Treyarch pulled that crap with the limited edition on W@W, I refuse to buy another limited edition game.

I can't get to the link from work, what all is included in the "Prestige Edition?"

* Modern Warfare 2
* A tin case
* A token to download the original Call of Duty
* An artbook
* Modern Warfare 2: Harden Edition (see above)
* Fully functioning night vision goggles: alternating modes, MW2 branded with a sculpted head stand.

All of that.

Much thanks. Hrm...considering how much I need a tin case and an artbook I'll probably pass and if I feel like I must have it I can download the original CoD (which I wasn't a big fan of).

I really wish they were including a "Making of/Behind the Scenes" type DVD with it. I always like seeing what goes in to making the games. Fallout 3 and Bad Company both had this, and I enjoyed watching it. Would really round out the HE and PE editions. But really, I'm sure COD will be a $15 XBLA game, so that alone almost makes the Hardened Edition worth it.

I predict upwards of $300 for it. The night vision setup looks to be a quality set, not just some cheap $100 toy. I could be wrong, but I'd expect between $300 and $400
I'm basing this off the Collectors edition price as $80 which it is public,.. and a little knowledge of night vision goggles.

There's no way it will be over $200. They wouldn't make something like it if it had to cost that much.

Thats not even the NVG's that we use now days. We use PVS-14's that cover just one eye, not two. Which is much better.

I dunno, you may be right. I mean they sell toy $100 ones that are simular, that are supposed to work fairly well. You can't see much from the video, but it doesn't look like a cheapie set.

I think I'm just gonna stick with the regular $60 game. Anytime I ever talk myself into buying a collector's set, I realize a month later that I never even touched anything else in the package.

I think the 'Hardened Edition' may be worth it because of the included original Call of Duty voucher. That's another $10-$15 in value right there on top of the $60 game.
