Call Of Duty brings up the hard reality of WWII towards you. Call Of Duty (especially playing it in Veteran mode) makes it almost realistic. The fights, your mates, random grenade/mortar impacts, tanks, high fire rate stationary machine guns and so on. And all in the perfect setup. You aren't really the hero. Yes, you're bloody often the pointman ... so if there's an enemy ahead your often the first to be screwed up if you don't find the prone button fast. Just as in real as it was in WWII.

I love this game, more than MOH:AA. Call Of Duty really did a great job by giving you a side role and not the main role. You ain't the hero. You need you mates in combat as they need you! With them around you dare more and you are willing to do risky stuff to draw away enemy fire from a mate in troube. At least that's for me ;)

Disabling Fast Write in BIOS and ATi settings allowed me to play for the last ~30 minutes with no lock ups. Anyone else having issues w/CoD should give it a shot. ;)

The main problem (for me, at least) with this and many other games is how scripted it is. The enemy will always come/spawn from the predetermined location which you will know and that makes for zero replayability value.

i don't know about that, i never replay single player games. no matter how enemies spawn, its like been there..done that. multiplayer is another thing. its not as if theres a shortage of good games out there:)

I find this game to be incredibly immersive. It is also quite frustrating at certain points. I really feel like I am fighting against German soldiers at some points and find myself way too into it. :D I love a game that can pull me away from reality and distract me like this.

I highly recommend this game to FPS fans.

Played this for a couple hours last night. Really enjoyed it. Turned out the lights and cranked up the sound. Great stuff. A few times I was jumping in my seat after being scared to death by snipers trying to pick me off. Good time. Moves along fairly briskly. Keeps you interested. I'd recommend it,

i'm definitely in the minority here....the game feels and looks cheesy to me. Doesn't have a sense of realism at all for me, quite the opposite in fact. take image from previous game/movie XYZ, add polygons, give AI path scripts, etc... i do like the acid trip you go on when near a blast zone however.
I enjoyed hidden and dangerous 2 a hell of a lot more.

Anyone have problems trying to start the single player game? Multiplayer works fine for me but every time I try to load the single player I get an error. Something about Can't Find CD-Rom. I'm sure it's a conflict or something. I just hate the idea of dropping down $50 for half a game. :frown:

I think it's good, but since it's a Q3 game it makes me want to throw up after about 20 minutes of playing it.

You could try a NO-CD crack. That might eliminate the CD check and allow the game to start correctly.

Well, there are gamers and non-gamers. Go runPrime95 for a few hours to get over it.

I don't know about you, but after 2 shots, one in the leg then another in the arm, my ass will be laying down on the ground. I can't imagine no one other than Rambo, would be able to stand after that punishment.

There is stories from Vietnam of viet cong soldiers hopped up on something that you could pump full of bullets but they'd still be running at you. Adrenalin mixed with painkillers can be powerful I guess.

I assume you are referring to motion sickness?? I get the same thing that's why I can't play Half Life and can only play CoD a shortwhile.

No what I mean is I DID pay 50 for a game that I can only play multiplayer with. I'll try No CD thingy, my friend knows it.
