I don't know what's wrong with you guys. I love Hanoi and Cracked. They're both maps that need a little tactics applied to them, rather than just running around looking for people.

Hanoi in particular - the campers can get annoying, but if you pay attention to the common camp spots and carefully traverse the map, you can pick people off no problem. A silenced weapon is a must there, especially in smaller matches (I love FFA there). And you know someone is ALWAYS camping in that damn house. For some reason most of them aren't watching the stairs up to their camp spot either. One dumbass tried playing "dead" next to the bed upstairs several times. Mr. Semtex took care of that bullshit.

Cracked is nothing special in TDM, but in FFA and Domination it's quite fun. Again, carefully navigating the map and picking people off quietly. There are also good spots to drop a claymore and pick up some collateral damage ;)

Nuketown can be fun, but it gets old quickly.

Firing Range, on the other hand, I actually like because while there are several routes around the map, the routes are more clearly defined and it's not as easy to have someone sneak up on you. There are clear areas of engagement and you can approach ready for battle. I usually clean up on Firing Range and enjoy every minute of it.

The only one I'm not a huge fan of is Jungle, though I don't have a good reason. I just tend to get killed there more often

If you approach from the side of the hill OPPOSITE the Army truck & red building, there is a steeper slope and you can go prone & be out of range of anybody camping from the red building or anything. You're still vulnerable to explosives and people coming up from the other side of the hill or from the buildings to your left & right, but it's a pretty safe place. To be clear, approach B from the "Bus Street" - see callouts here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEyV4rb-pGg

That's what I was doing, but there was always 2 guys camping the spot on both sides inside the houses, which I could usually kill but once the enemy team noticed I was taking the flag, I immediately had 2 or 3 grenades thrown in my direction, or I was shot in the back. If I stop moving for 10 seconds on Cracked I get shot in the back because the entire map is a mess.

Sounds like you had a crappy team, which makes for a problem on any map. As others said, give smoke or willy pete or nova gas a try and consider flak jacket to help with the nades.

Hmmm...I wonder if you get put into second change on a flag if you will still be capping it? :hmm:

Flak Jacket is a good perk against those pesky game ruining RC cars. Just hunker down and 95% of the time I survive the explosion. I don't think that the Flak Jacket pro helps more with explosions, as I haven't had the pro that long with it yet to really get a lot of gaming in.

See below

Pro for Flak Jacket will allow you to deflect fire damage (including Napalm Strikes) and allow you to toss back frag grenades safely, which will reset the fuse up to 2.5 seconds. This can be done by completing the challenges below.

The RC cars are garbage... wish they weren't in the game.

They don't seem to be as abused as they were at the start. Even still, they're loud as hell. They just don't bother me really. Plus I always have a claymore on me, so if I hear one coming and have nowhere to go, I'll just back into a corner and set a claymore about 3 yards in front of me. I've also been known to dive over a cliff in extreme situations (which is usually followed by accusations of cheapness from the driver during post-game).

RC cars really aren't that big of a deal, neither are attack dogs, as a matter of fact, no kill streak reward is an issue for me, because i know how to set my self up to avoid/kill/destroy it.

Sure, they are loud and can be stopped, but they can be surprisingly disruptive when you run in to multiple players on a team running hardline and RC-XD. I have an easier time dropping a copter than I do one of these obnoxious cars.

Yeah, they seem to be really tough to shoot to me. I rarely get one, but the claymore trick is ideal. If I hear one near me, I'll get into a strategic spot and put a claymore a good distance ahead.

+1 on the hardline RC car spammers

I'm with you 100%. If they would of left the RC cars out of the game, this would be a perfect game to me. :) I don't hate them as much as I used to once I found I kinda like the flak jacket. What I love is surviving an RC car,.. thats gotta frustrate people. That, and taking down a Huey before the guy gets any kills with it. Ghost Pro is one of my favorites to use for doing just that.

I am really getting pissed off at the match ending and getting "connection to host has been lost". This is on the ps3. Between that and games ending and getting transmission errors im getting rather frustrated. Seems like i cant stay in a lobby more than 2 games.

But mmight just be the internet im since im not playing from home.

TBH i really think people are fucking with their personal lag sometimes when it does a host swap, was in a game yesterday and people were teleporting around, when the game ended 1 person had full bars and everyone else in the game (all 11 random people) had 1 red bar.

ever since the game came out i get flashes of the Cable unplugged icon when the game ends before it goes into the lobby.

I have heard the XBox has a very superior online experience for Black ops. I only have a ps3 and have given up playing online in real matches. Combat training with friends is the only thing that is lag free. I don't see why they fix this. Mutiplayer is the main reason people buy this game.

I could be wrong on the xbox thing. A few guys I used to play with switched the 360 and say they are not having the problems my clan and I are facing.

I played with the aug last night. I read in some other forums that it is supposed to have less kick back and have the same stats as the FAMAS. I had a horrible time working with it last night. I felt that my mini bursts that would kill with the famas took me me two or three bursts to kill my target.

its just the direction of the kick that is different, one is more left-right and the other top/bot

i cant remember which is which. The Aug is one of the few guns i can run really well without a sight on it for some reason
