For me the restarting is what keeps it interesting. If there were no prestiging I'd have stopped playing long ago. Starting from sq 1 and earning your gear back (and being "the underdog" in the process) is where it's at!

But if you don't play a lot then no, it's probably not worth doing again if you want to keep all your gear.

nope all you get is more custom class slots, if you do it 15 times you get to buy gold camo for your weps

As he said, every other prestige you get an extra Create a Class slot, and you get a new silly emblem next to your name (ALL the emblems in Black Ops are retarded), that's it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I would pay for extra class slots (Maybe $1-2 each?). I like the flexibility of having different classes setup for experimenting and playing around, while keeping my favs (AA, Rush, Flak, Assault, etc) in place.

I prestiged only once in BO, mainly due to the trouble of earning some Pro perks.

Something horrible has happened in the past week. For whatever reason I am now struggling to cross a .5!?! K/D in both TDM and Pure. Recently until last week it was a rarity for me to be under 1.0 but I lost something. I am losing most duels I get into, some of the times I don't even get to fire before I die. At longer range fights, forget it. I went 8/13, 4/16, and 2/14! last night. I finely ended up taking the freebie sniper class on array and went 10/8 (woohoo...).

Further, I noticed that sometimes center mass hits with my shotgun have not made the HIT noise on my speakers. Movement seems okay and I have not noticed much skipping or glitching. Can I chalk this up to connection issues, or have I done a Mega Maid and gone from suck to blow?

My KDR has been dropping steadily as I've pretty much stopped playing TDM and started playing objective games. I was at 2.20 KDR, now I'm around 2.08, but my win ratio is nearing 3.1. If I play an objective game I'm gonna play it right, not like it'd TDM. That means on CTF I'm sprinting back and forth trying to harass and make a quick grab for the flag.

Either you've unknowingly changed your play style and are sprinting around far too much, or you've had a bad spot of connections and are losing to lag. The other possibility is that every time you've played, the uber-twitch-kiddies are out and they have just been making you their bitch.

Try slowing down your gameplay and/or playing at a different time of day.

lol. I did this the other night. Started off a match in Havana. Was running around with the mpl (with grip on, it's another one of the best smg's in the game), and ran into a-holes that were quick scoping, and shooting m60's through the wall. These quick scopers were catching me face to face while on the move... I was equiped with lw and marathon... wtf. Had to put on my flak class. AK+noob+flack+soh+tac mask, and put a whoopin on these guys. Started off 3-7.. Ended 27 - 9.

I've started only playing with friends (no longer flying solo) and it's lifted my KDR more than anything. Having non-moronic teammates is by far the most important factor to winning.

Sadly, all my friends play Hardcore TDM and just camp like everyone else. I can't do that crap. I have to run and gun like John Rambo. Oh well, I'll be playing for free on PC this weekend.

Hmmm they must have changed something with the G11 because it used to be where if all three bullets hit the target, they'd be dead. Now, it takes two 3-shot bursts to get them down, even at close range.

So I've been playing the free Steam weekend for Black Ops on PC and I am surprised this game is better on console. The server browser is terrible, the hacking is retarded, I can't find out how to make custom classes between matches (have to exit the server and go into a private match... its the same with kill streaks), and even less people use mics than on Xbox.

The only upside is I can play Nuketown 24/7 if I want to torture myself.

I just hope BF3 won't be like that because I will be getting that on PC.

Primary: AK-74u w/Dual Mags or SPAS-12 w/silencer
Secondary: Python pistol
Perks: Lightweight, Flak Jacket, or Hardline; Steady Aim; Marathon (all Pro perks for me)

If it's a small enough map where the SPAS-12 will be good, I use that. If it's a larger map where I want to be a pest, the AK-74u.

I was using the M1911 (because I had just prestiged) and went 65-9 with a pistol. Rushed the hell out of it with 4 caps too.

It really depends on how you interpret the game, no? Are you looking to play Quake or are you looking to play GR/RBS? One uses tactics and the other run-a-muck.

I never got into playing MW/MW2, but my friends I spent years playing coop with in GR/RBS tried like heck to play them for two years and were never really successful.

So, they switched patterns and camped. Now they are successful and you think this makes them pussies? Well, if the pussy gets what it wants and the losers don't get anything (but failure) then maybe the run-a-muck crowd is just incapable at rooting out tics. :biggrin:

But as I said, it really depends on how you are treating the game. You seem like someone that wants to play Quake (i.e. tactics need not apply).

I'll have to give this a shot. I also wonder if my projector is lagging. At times I'd have the trigger already depressed as the intended victim comes around the corning not firing, and yet I die (too much).
