Call of Duty: Black Ops

Well I decided to prestige. I'm already missing my ghost pro. It's funny how much you get used to a certain class if you're like me and basically play the exact same class every game. Now that I'm prestiged I feel so useless like it's my first time with the game again.

I don't think I should have too much difficulty getting the pro perks again. It seems I come across a sentry gun pretty much every day. I destroyed 2 today.

Oh, and does anybody else find they pretty much only play Grid when playing demolition? I played demolition pretty much all day today and about 90% of the matches were Grid.

anyone want to help me unlock Second Chance Pro on the PS3? I was thinking we could run an FFA match, meet in the corner somewhere and let me headshot you while in SC.

i haven't played in like 2 weeks, ive only turned on my PS3 once in that time to DL the game update. Thought about playing but seeing as they apparently haven't fixed any of the lag/DC issues im just not even gonna bother

if they actually fixed those id play, don't have any issues with the game besides those 2 making it almost unplayable

I played a few games last night with a good group and we spent most of the night doing one of two things. 1) Steamrolling the competition, we blew alot of the other teams out of the water. 2) Trying to find enough people to launch the game. It was worse last night than it had been in a while.

Also, I had the most ridiculous death I'd ever experienced yesterday. I bought the contract for getting 7 LMG kills without dying and I was up to 6 kills on Firing Range. So I decided I'd go to the middle building and camp the stairwell to get my final kill. Someone coming from the garage area throws a grenade up top, it goes through the window and lands on me...over and over and over. It keeps bounding on my head and I die from the impact...I think it hit me 5 or 6 times. Had it hit me and bounced off I could have run to safety easily...I was so peeved.

I'm back to playing MW/MW2 now. Black Ops is okay...but I enjoy these other games a lot more.

Yeah, alot of my friends are moving back to CoD 4 and MW2, more to the former surprisingly.

The only thing about Black Ops that annoys me is the broken party system. If i play by myself or with one other friend I never usually have any problems.

I really like black ops, and there is no way i could go back to MW2. I'd much rather go back to cod4 if I had to choose.

I fired up some MW2 on my PS3 to get used to the controller and yeah, I definitely like MW2 better as well. The whole thing is just more polished and enjoyable. The only thing I didn't like was the occasional lag on the PS3 (though that may be due to me needing to open up the NAT for the PS3) and the noob tubers & Commando-cool-kids.

Amazon is giving $39 for BO 360. I'll give it a few more weeks and might trade it in as well. It's good, just not THAT good.

However...I will admit I am now used to buying my weapons/perks I got into MW2 last night with my room mate and realized I had prestiged. And...what do you know, I have no weapons, perks, or kill streaks

I guess I'll have to play a ton tonight to make up for it

I think the complaints of Black Ops are overblown. People might have had greater expectations but I personally don't have any issues outside of the party system which in itself has been working just fine for my smaller group of friends.

I can't believe people have forgotten how bad MW2 was for the first few months. Black Ops is perfect compared to that.

yeah I haven't seen anyone in black ops hiding inside a rock of invincibility, or carrying around a javelin mini-nuke.

The difference is that there's a large swath of PS3 and PC users who have problems even connecting to multiplayer matches. Gamers can overlook bugs and glitches to a degree but not being able to even connect is a cardinal sin.

Yeah, I was speaking as an ignorant xbox 360 user No real complaints for me.

The sound on PS3 is the real big nut kicker for me. With a PX21 headset on and ninja pro I could barely even hear people. I popped MW2 in last night played F4A and I could hear people moving the whole time. I can't imagine how loud it's gonna be once I unlock sitrep pro and play some search with the headset on.

I did run into alot of noob tubers but most of them were so shitty I only died maybe 1 in every 4 tubers I ran into

Because after a set of patches last night we still spent 50% of our time trying to get enough people to start a game...and the hit detection still sucks.

I know it's not awful, but it's more frusterating (for me at least) than MW2 was early on.

WTF is with with the hard system lock ups on the PS3 with v1.04? Had my first serious session yesterday and my PS3 hard locked four fucking times.

ehhh i had no problem hearing people even without ninja. granted i have a bit better setup than just a headset or tv speakers. but i could tell if the steps were back left or right or in the front. Same with bullets and explosions. Im actually pretty impressed with the sound in BO.

Now its all the other crap, hard lockups, transmission errors, repopulating that keep me from playing.

I have had a few connections dropped on XBL but nothing major, probably no more than 10 times over the hours and hours i have played it.

I am starting to get bored of it though.... i dont know what it is....

I am tempted by COD4 but I dont have a copy and I dont want to start from scratch all over again! So i will persist with BO for now

Use the FFA method, worked for Joph!

I actually got my sentry kill on my own but it was so not worth it. Played Domination and I saved up 3 Sentry Gun drops. Waited I then hurled all 3 at their spawn area and they nabbed 'em all. Managed to sneak around and knife one of 'em...SO not worth the effort though. Go the FFA route and save yourself some headache.

You know what's funny about black ops...noob tubing is actually a skill now. I suck at noob tubing, so I never use it, but I got a friend that has close to 2k kills with it.

Meh, it's still pretty easy. I use it alot on Domination for getting rid of multiple flag capturers. Definitely less powerful than it was on MW2.

This - GL + RPG + SoH ... nasty for CP defense.
