Oh no, not this time IW. You burned me with Ghost now you will have to really bring the pain to get me to spend money on another one of your titles. Instead of releasing a new game fix the broken train wreck you have out now. It's appropriately named because Call of duty is a "Ghost" of it's former self.

Again, this game is not from Infinity Ward. Even if the development cycle hadn't changed, this would be a Treyarch release. This one's Sledgehammer though, as they're using 3 development teams now.

Have you tried Extinction? It's the best mode of Ghosts, and entirely new gameplay style to the series.

it matters little.

All the games are starting to feel the same. I dont even care who makes them. Just waiting for the price to drop so I can enjoy them. None of those titles is worth 60 bucks. I am saddened by all the folks who keep paying full price for mediocre gameplay. They ruin the industry.

It matters in that people should know what they're talking about before contributing. Regardless of the opinion towards any CoD dev-house, any ire or praise should at least be directed at the right one.

tinmann was wrong in every single way of thinking about who was making this game.

No, but it gives Sledgehammer a fair chance. If this new game came out and was somehow a major shift in the franchise for the better, and everyone thought it was Infinity Ward, would that be fair to Sledgehammer? I know life's not fair, but that would be crap. At the same time, if the game comes out and is a total mess, is that something people should hold against Infinity Ward? Certainly not.

That possible.
But I still wont pay full price.
I'll wait for the older games to go on sale, play all of them, and by then the latest and greatest will be cheaper.

I agree, to some extent. I have given up on Infinity Ward, as MW2 was mediocre, MW3 was a total joke, and Ghosts was not much better (all from a multiplayer stance). Given that Sledgehammer's only previous work was the terrible MW3, I will come into their release with uncertainty, and will therefore not purchase the game that they put out, unless a LOT of good things are said. Then, on the 2015 slate, I'll look into the next Treyarch title, as I thought Black Ops to be good and Black Ops II to be solid online, with a campaign that was great to try out different toys in.

Why did they even bother with switching to 3 studios/3 year dev cycles.
They have a large and growing user base already, by the time a pre teen grows up and leaves COD behind, another 10 will reach COD age and buy annual sequels anyway. They could have kept dev costs at bay with continuing the annual rehash, saved even more money by dropping PC and focusing on consoles.

They say they want to help the quality of the games, implying that they recognize the excessive sameness and lack of advancements in the games, I take it. Giving their teams 3 years to work on things will hopefully mean we have a bit more distinction between each group's work, and we get better overall games for it.

Until they overhaul the whole game not just put a new skin on the same old thing theyve been doing for years Im not interested. But people keep buying these so theyll probably never change.

Let me know when they have an actual war and not just little instanced mini-battles.

That strategy worked out super swell for Guitar Hero.

Improving the quality of the franchise keeps it alive. Stagnant things rot and are tossed. Ghosts was also not growth for the franchise.

From the the casual people on my FB, there was a lot of excitement for MW3 and BO2 when it came out. Girls, guys, people who never played any games were out talking about it. With Ghosts, the excitement was pretty much non-existent. Its been dying with the yearly releases. They should do a 2 year cycle.
