Well, decided I would finally retire CoD4 and play something newer. Went on Steam, if you search CoD there are how many of these shitty games now? So I bought the next one in line (CoD MW2); installed it, fired it up. LOL It has all the same sounds from CoD4, a LOT of the same textures, basically the same game. Glad I only paid $10. :awe: :thumbsdown:

MOHAA (medal of honor: allied assault) and battlefield 1942 came out in 2002.

they are still the best WW2 FPS of all time

Funny, because Call of Duty was revealed to me at QuakeCon2003 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a 2007 game.

Back in 1999 it was called Medal of Honor. The whole genre has been played out for over a decade.

Not sure what point you are trying to make when neither of the games the OP was talking about were WWII FPS titles. They were, however, CoD titles, and CoD started in 2003, as I said.

Agreed on BF 1942. I have it on my system and try it out regularly ... even after all these years.

The best console FPS of all time was Goldeneye for N64 and then came PerfectDark for N64. I was scary good at those games where I knew where you would spawn from and kill your birth in seconds. LOL

when comparing those 2 games they are indeed very similar, the feel changes a bit but the graphics haven't been upgraded much.

Honestly I stopped CoD them after MW2 because I don't want to pay for the same game over and over.
Right now my GPU doesn't support dx11 so I can't play the new ones either but I bet the graphics still aren't that good.

Still, you wanted a bit of change and MW2 is different enough. No more of that throwing grenades on the other side of the neighbourhood, less camping etc.

You can't throw grenades and camp in MW2? I love the Wet Work level in CoD and throw flash bangs and grenades all the time. LOL
