LOL @ about ~25 people camping in line (at ~11:30 am) at the AT&T store right across from my business. I will update again at ~4PM and see how many people are there.

The funny part is that I can get an iphone without even standing in line (well...b/c the manager is a regular customer of mine 😀 and can probably find out how many iphones they have in stock today). I talked with him yesterday and he had no clue as to how many he would be getting...he mentioned that they would be dropped on Friday morning.

florida...not one of the crazy ones I saw outside today.

well i hope the phone is worth your time and money. see if you can post on the forum through your phone when you get it.

crazy fool 🙂

I think most of the people waiting inline for the iphone are people trying to make a quick buck because I saw a lot of ads on Craigslist selling Iphone in price range $800-$1,200.

I heard bad reviews about the I-phone. Thats why theres not much people inline. Hey are you using a hand held computer to type this up?</end quote></div>

Nope I have a sprint broadband card..

It'll be nice once you get your iPhone you can use that for internet for your laptop....oh wait...or not

our society needs to learn patience.

just like anything in a few weeks or months there will be tons of unsold iphones in the stores after the hypw has died down.

Are you in line at an Apple store or an AT&T store? Either way, 1000 units or 50-90 units, I think 21st place in line means you're safe.

As long as you don't call me later on today I'm happy. God I hate the iPhone.

Oh BTW:

1) 14 day buyers remorse, very strict.
2) 10% restocking fee, once the wrap is gone, very strict as well.
3) NO discounts of any kind, not through your company, not through your employer, nada.
4) You lose all monthly service discounts.
5) You lose all of your equipment discounts, on ALL of the lines on your account, iPhones or not.
6) New 2 year contract required.

Steve Jobs likes bending over his own customers, now he gets to bend over AT&T's as well.

From what I've seen, prospective buyers appear to be teenagers showing off, rich college kids showing off, techies, ebayers and...that's about it. Most business people will probably stick with their Blackberries, so hey, more power to you...

Following the natural hype progression with the XBox 360 and PS3, is anyone taking bets on when:

1) The first "I broke my iPhone!" story is released?
2) The first "I hacked the iPhone to work with 'X' software!" story is released?
3) The first "I hacked the iPhone to work with 'X' phone network!" story is released?
3) When actual iPhones (not preorders) start showing up on eBay?
4) How much those iPhones will sell for?
5) How much those iPhones will sell for on eBay two weeks from now?
6) How long it will be before you can buy a second generation iPhone that's faster and has more storage for $300?

1) 1 week
2) 1 week
3) 2 weeks
3) 6:03 pm
4) 600$
5) 600$
6) 2 years

The first number 3 will probably turn out to be quite difficult. I am guessing they have the 'SIM' embedded into the circuit board. (you have 2 number 3's)

Oh, come on, that's got to be at least 3 or four months down the road. By that time, it will be time to upgrade anyway. 😛

It will be called the iphone shuffle. Its going to suck. You wouldn't have a screen. When you press call, a random number will play. However, it will be cheaper.

Yes I saw the post but none of those people said anything about acually being in a line currently.. As I am.. I was not asking who was getting one I was asking who was in lne..

isn't that basically the same thing? who cares if anyone else is in line? chances are people in line can't read the forums anway, so this question is completely retarded.

Here's what I am thinking is going to happen. Apple is pitching it as a iPod+ cell phone replacement. The less computer literate people are going to get it and try to sync all their music and videos they have on their 10+ gb ipods and run out of space and be like wtf "I paid $600 and I cant even take all my music with me?" These people are then going to be pissed at themselves for wasting all that money..

Jim

Rumor says it has 80 gigs of storage. It was on Engadget a few days ago.
