quick look through some of the threads at AVS....I'm thinking I get hit by a power surge a few times over the last year, and this could certainly be making the A2 respond so callously to my requests.

suppose I'll give the firmware update a try...
 
ugh, so the update to firmware 4.0 did nothing. A2 still doesn't recognize my HD DVDs.

what a load of bricked crap. 🙁
