If you show up once a week and ask me, I'll pitch in five dollars a week. I already help pay for an ivy league tuition for my brother.

I vote no on all propositions.
The only proposition I will vote yes on is one that abolishes the proposition system.

No on 30 and yes on 32 it is. Just filled out the absentee ballot and it's in the mail.

I haven't seen post-2004 data, but California pays $1 in federal taxes for every $0.81 received in federal funds. So overall California is a money source, not a sink, compared to other states. California's making to taking ratio is better than all but eight other states. Incidentally, those eight other states will most likely all be voting blue this year.

Always be aware of where the prop money is coming from. In this case, I trust more the people against it than the people who are for it.So you think the union should be able to take money for political contributions from people without permission and without notification.
Sad that people think this is ok.

Tell me why a conservative Iowa group is bank rolling almost the whole prop 32 operation and how it affects them?
Of course the people against it don't want to have to stop stealing money from other people. I am one of the people they stole money from, but hey assholes like you aren't affected so you don't care.
OK, then the politicians do whatever they want without asking the people.
Yeah, that works great.

It's completely relevant. We have a completely f'ed up proposition system where a few rich guys which mountains of cash can try to gum up the political works. The Koch brothers have no right to interfere in how CA operates politically. That isn't relevant, what is relevant is unions shouldn't be able to take money from my paycheck to give to politicians that I do not support without my permission.
So tell me Why is it O.K for the unions to take money from my paycheck without my permission to give it other people I don't support.

Unions spend money to protect their interests. You may not agree with the people they support but those people do support the unions.
First, Prop. 32 eliminates the unions voice completely. Only unions collect dues through payroll deductions NOT corporations. There is a system with in every union that governs the tiny percent of the dues that go to politics and every member has the right to opt out. However, The language in Prop. 32 continues to state that even if money is collected through voluntary practices the union cannot use the money for any political purpose or communicate with their members regarding politics. Second the language of prop. 32 states it will stop pay to play. It only stops it during the bidding process, than corporations can go back to giving moneys. It doesnt stop Corporate Super PACs, Wal-Mart, which is not a corporation, Anti union Billionaire CEOs, or 501 4c non profits that dont even have to report to the FFC who gave them money. Even the Chamber of Commerce can give unlimited amounts of money to their special interests. Lets talk Chamber of Commerce, their attorneys and members attend every MSHA, OSHA or CAL OSHA hearing I have every attended fighting to stop or repeal health and safety laws that protect workers. Yeah , thats the folks I want to decide my working conditions and pay.

Thats a piss poor reason.Look who's backing 32. There's no way in hell I'm voting for this.
