The ocean water is really polluted as well

Lots of dirty industry

East coast freezing winters and hot humid summers

Tolls all over

Yep, that's one thing I hated about NJ highways. I drive a bit and have to pay tolls. It sucked.

OTOH, i'm sure NJ has worse pollution problems than southern cal.

I don't consider LA to be part of California 😉.

SoCal has tolls. LOL. Tolls on roads that is.... bleh. WTF is with that.

oh ya, btw, NY/NJ won't have a real estate bubble burst like CA will.

You guys say that all the time yet even if it bursts, our prices will still be higher than NY/NJ. Moreoever, while sales have slowed and picked up again over and over, we haven't hit the burst yet. Slowing of sales does not even drop prices once a bit. It shows that CA is the place to be...

your prices are higher than NY??

do you have ANY IDEA what realestate is like in Manhattan?

sheesh.

again, there are real strong economic reasons for NY/NJ to continue to grow, can you say the same for southern cal? other than speculation, what is driving growth in CA??

strong economics?

btw, the person above you that posted he doesn't consider LA to be part of CA really discredits himself.

How do I discredit myself? Because I think that LA is an exception to the otherwise less-polluted CA? Besides the city that you've been saying is so awesome (Manhattan) is just as polluted as LA.

no way NEAR as polluted as Southern Cal (btw, i didn't say LA, you did, i said Southern Cal, there is a HUGE difference).

go out to the san bernardino area, and out to the loma linda area and try to tell me that ANYWHERE in the US has air as polluted as that area.

again, we are not talking one city, we are talking 1/3 the land area of CA. you know as in Southern Cal.

and yes, it is ALL part of CA, just as Newark is part of NJ.

It's really sad how california residents are so full of themselves.
They are supposed to be the laid back, chill, hippie style people. Now they just come off as badass wanna-be new yorkers in shorts and sandals.

then they make stupid statements like, "I don't consider LA part of CA".

how stupid is that?

Where else is SoCal heavily polluted? San Diego?

Just so you know, there's no winter in most of Cali. And in some places, there's no summer either. Cali haters are jealous as always.

Someone's never been to CA. Winter drops into the 30s. I biked to school every single day for 3 years in high school, and yes there are mornings where you freeze your @$$ off even in sweats. Roofs are frozen, etc.

No summer? It was just 100 here last week? Go figure.

So you live in the bay area too. When's the last time you seen snow below 1000 ft.? How many times in a year do you see 100+? I was born and raised in the bay area and I still live there. I've been wearing t shirt and jeans to school and work all my life, w/ the hoody now and then. 30s is cold? Pussy.

Ironic since I used to live in New York. At least, I don't wear shorts or sandals 😛.

Firstly, you need to fix your sarcasm meter. I even put an emoticon after it just to help you.

You should be on the beach smoking drugs.

CA is 167K sq miles, nj is just under 9k sq miles.
ca population is 33 mill, NJ is 10 mill.

to even compare the two is just ludicrous.

and despite that, NJ is doing pretty well all things considered, doesn't say much for CA. 😉

Don't blame me. Blame the OP. Why can't we just love each state for their own uniqueness?

CA chicks>NJ chicks

That closes the book right there. In-N-Out burger is the brick keeping this biatch on lockdown.

I remember people who went to the East Coast for college complaining about the lack of In-N-Out.

California can't cook for sh!t, which is why they drown their food in cilantro.

because focusing a collective hate towards a single state is fun

Could be worse, could be PA, NC, GA or TX.

WTF are you getting on about? CA can best be compared to the Eastern Seaboard, not just on state, especially when it comes to cuisine, lifestyle, ethinicity, culture,etc...

One thing for certain CA is going to have better weather for today than what we'll have here on the East Coast, especially in New England.

I'd have to say NJ since Californians are so insecure they have to start a CA thread everytime a new NJ thread appears.

QFT.

California has bred an elite breed of superwusses. I bet I could kick a Californian's ass using words alone.
For that matter, with what you just said, a couple here probably just keeled over with coronaries, trembling with fear (while a couple more have probably just been admitted to ICU .)
Yeah right, you two E-thugs are real intimidating:roll:

"You are fortunate to live here. If I were your President, I would levy a tax on you for living in San Francisco!"

Good Mexican food >>>>> Italian food
Chinese, Japanese, Korea food in California>>>>> Pseudo asian food here in NJ
Sunset over the ocean >>>> Sunrise over the ocean
California Driver not afraid to go over 65 >>>> Old NJ geezers afraid of anything over 25
Governator >>> NJ government (currently inactive)
Down Town LA, Pasadena, La Jolla, etc >>> Run down slums dotted all over NJ
99 Ranch in California >>>>> run down asian supermarket slum in NJ

And if you want good Italian food, it's also better in california if you have the $$$

I do give you credit for your food.

Oh how I miss it (CT).
