California vs. NJ, which state is better? (Winner California)

This thread is biased. Since California has far more people than NJ, and is especially overrepresented on this board, people from CA are just voting for themselves.

California probably has 10x the amount of members of ATOT than NJ does. Yet NJ still got about 35% of the vote. That tells you that people that aren't from either CA or NJ voted against CA.

it's not called being mean to be ignorant. it's called being ignorant.

NJ, atlantic city, princeton university, NY Times building (the presses for the NY Times are in NJ), HQ for Johnson and Johnson, HQ for Merril Lynch, HQ for Bristol Meyer Squib, Dow Jones is based in NJ, . . .

and the list goes on and on and on.

This is true. New Jersey roads are suck, though.

Hmm, let's see...Joisey has Tony Soprano
Kahleeforneeya has Ah-Nold...
Joisey wins!

Yeah, I know, BOTH are made for TV characters)

Heh-heh...I'm not a native Kahleeforneeyan, but my job brought me here 19 yrs ago...for a 6 week construction job. Liked it so much, we stayed. I guess that makes me a Kahleeforneeyan by default...I've had the "pleasure" of living in many places, Mass, Wash, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, and Kahleeforneeya, and of them all, I liked Wyoming best, EXCEPT for the winters...TOO cold and TOO long. The town we lived in, claimed to be the Ice Box of the Nation, and said they had 3 seasons...July, August, and winter, and you might get snow in any month. 1986, my kids set off their fireworks in 6" of fresh fallen snow...
I live in Kahleeforneeya's "Central Valley. One of the places with the worst air pollution in the nation. (We swap with Houston periodically for 2nd worst) However, we grow much of the nation's foods here. #1 in dairy, (sorry cheeseheads) #1 in almonds/w alnuts, huge tomato crops, tree fruit like apricots and peaches, oranges and other citrus, strawberries, etc. I live about 2 hours from the Pacific Ocean, or 2 hours from the snow, (should I be so stupid as to want to see that nasty sh!t again!) I'm less than 2 hrs from San Francisco, 5 hrs from L.A., 7 hrs from San Diego, and about 9 hrs from Las Vegas. (yeah, much less if I fly)
Is Kahleeforneeya the greatest? Nope, but it does have a lot going for it. Something like the 5th largest economy in the world. ( or, depending on whose numbers you use, maybe 6th or 7th) Not the US, but the world...That by itself says a lot about what goes on here.

Do you know why the tectonic plate in California will never separate from the mainland US? It's because New Jersey SUCKS so much!

Uhhh obviously you have never been to CA. We have every type of food and given that we're closer to Asia, we have THE BEST Asian food. PERIOD.

CA is 167K sq miles, nj is just under 9k sq miles.
ca population is 33 mill, NJ is 10 mill.

to even compare the two is just ludicrous.

and despite that, NJ is doing pretty well all things considered, doesn't say much for CA. 😉
Could be worse, could be PA, NC, GA or TX.

or FL (at least in parts)
