yes there are a crapload of hot girls at UCSB hehOriginally posted by: Ghamu
BTW, I also think for those UCLA and UCSD rejects, that UCSanta Barbara is a excellent option, college town atmosphere, decent academic reputation. For the males, a lot of hot girls (for better or for worse mostly white), plenty of "fun" going on. Requirements for transfer are not so bad, except for engineering, which is around 3.45 ave.

Why pay $20,000+ for USC when you can pay about $5,500 for UCLA?
Well, if you have a 2.5 GPA then you can at least get into USC, as along as you foot the bill 😀
(except for its film school, as you mentioned)

because they don't have a business program
your options for business in California are like...UCB, USC, San Diego State, CSULB, CSUF, UCR
in which case
UCB > USC > SDS > *
Which blows since if you don't count my first year as a CS major, I'd have the 3.8/3.9 needed to get into UCB. But my gpa will only be 3.3/3.4, so I'm hopeful about USC, if not SDS should be a shoein

what are you kidding? UCLA has the anderson school of business which is definitely better than marshall (USC). I wouldn't even consider san diego for business school, though. UC Davis and Irvine both have far better business schools than SDS.

3.8 to UCBerkeley
i went to cal too and, no offense, but we (in the school of engineering) hated transfers 🙂
all the really "hard" classes were lower level classes (freshman and sophomore year). These classes were where teachers would grade much harder in an effort to "weed people out".
Once you moved to upper-division classes, almost no one got bad grades (nothing below a b usually), so everyones GPA for the final two years was pretty high.
So basically all the transfer students got to skip the hard stuff and ended up graduating with inflated GPAs..
