Yes it does, at least the Southern part. It's a shame too as it was once an Oasis. The quality of life started it's downward spiral about the time the Tech Boom hit. What seemed like a God send turned out to be just the opposite, over crowding, cost of housing going through the roofand quality of life going to shit.

Good. Now we can put the Guantanemo Detainees right in Pelosi's backyard with all the cleared out space.
Well they'd feel more at home in North Carolina with the Religious fanatics and closed minded idiots.

I love southern California. It's warm all the time, I live 3 blocks from the beach with good surf, and the people are friendly.

All the more reason to keep them in San Francisco. Those people want them released, and the detainees will be uncomfortable there.

And the Alcatraz is already built.

Of course, if you want the Gitmo detainees to be with similar beings, the sharks in the Atlantic works too.

I beleive that this will probably not be an issue.
Most of those, (40%), convicted are in for non violent offenses.
Hell, I'll bet half are in there for growing or smoking pot.
So if they get out and stay in CA, I really have no problem with it.

Most of them will migrate to Denver where the majority of homeless in the US find themselves as one time or another.

There are still pockets of civility in SoCal;)

I live in South Orange County. Only minutes away from the Irvine Spectrum and 15mins to Disneyland. I love living here. You can go to Disneyland in February and it will be 75 degrees and sunny.

This is going to increase joblessness... Both former inmates looking for work, and prison staff. Not to be cynical, but yeah ;)

Doesn't look like they will be releasing the violent offenders who may be a threat.

Rather like the sex offender who gets out after his third offense and goes on to kill someone? Or more like the individual who was picked up for selling a quarter of weed but had a gun in his pocket?

Or was he just happy to see you?

What if CA just deports all the illegals from its prison system. Problem solved? :)

Nowhere close. People born outside the US only comprise 17% of California's prison system, and that is ALL immigrants, not just illegal immigrants. Considering about 35% of California's foreign born are illegal, we're talking somewhere in the ballpark of 7% of California's prison population.
I still like the idea of kicking out all the illegals first (shipping them outside the US too) and seeing what kind of effect that has.
