 WTF does that have to do with anything?
He said guns don't work against the military. They obviously do since thousands of Americans have been killed by armed civilians in Iraq and the general who is Asian and presumably good at math said it would take hundreds of thousands of troops to secure the armed country.

If it was the UK you were trying to occupy, you could do it with 1 man and 1 musket.

 I guess I missed that post. Kind of off topic to this thread though.

How would it be impossible to wear that on the body?

I guess it wouldn't if you don't mind the magazine sticking out 8 inches past where it normally does. Might making getting in and out of cars kind of tricky and concealment near impossible.

So we should only be able to buy guns that are easily concealed?

Look, if there was any logical reason at all to own a 30 round clip for a Glock handgun I'd own one. There isn't. So, I don't.

30 round clip for an assault rifle? Sure, why not. For a handgun? No.

How is it any less logical for an "assault rifle"?

It is perfectly logical for an assault rifle. They were designed for use with high capacity magazines... er I mean clips.

Sure, they make 30 round clips for your Glock but they look ridiculous and they aren't practical as a carry option. It makes the gun unwieldy and I don't really see much advantage over carrying 3 10 round clips instead of 1 30 round clip in the gun.

Clip clip clippity clip clip

I'm fairly certain that such an equipped Glock is still less bulky than any "assault rifle". Looking ridiculous is irrelevant.

You seem to be under the impression that the only reason to own a handgun is to conceal it on your person

The right tool for the job. If you need an assault rifle why the fuck would choose a handgun instead?

Let me ask you this, if the 30 round magazine, er I mean clip, is so useful then why don't cops use them in their carry guns?

I didn't say that it was necessarily incredibly useful, but you get what you pay for. If one thinks they need to kill a raving band of hoodlums, shitting on somebody because they can only afford a Glock with a 30 bullet magazine instead of whatever you would buy to protect your Lotus Elise as you stroll through the darkest and most dangerous ghettos of San Diego is a sign of arrogance.

They make a full-auto Glock 19, it has a 33 round clip. It's a pistol 'machine gun'.

I don't agree with it, but understand how it fits where a rifle can't.

Personally I think this whole clip / mag thing is bullshit.

I think the whole assault rifle thing is bullshit. No one ever said rifles had to be for hunting.

We need to focus on those getting black market / stealing guns, not those wanting to own guns legally...even full automatics. My caveat is making sure anyone buying a gun can produce an income tax statement showing they make more than that gun's cost.

lol @ right tool for the job.

You bang around the block in a sport bike and have to wear full body armor.

Cops are restricted like our military due to pacifists thinking criminals and foreign soldiers are little boys inside.

I still don't get what's funny about that.

Do you wear a seat belt when you drive your car? :colbert:

Thulsa Doom said it best when he answered Conan's question about the Riddle of Steel: "What is steel compared to the hand that wields it?"

Criminals and their willingness to commit murder is the problem, not their chosen tool. Outlawing firearms only disarms the law abiding. We have nothing to fear from a properly trained, law abiding citizen owning just about any weapon. If you can train the average idiot to safely operate a motor vehicle, then you can do the same with an assault weapon.

But it's become out of fashion to insist on personal responsibility. Nobody wants to believe people do evil things and hold them responsible when they do. We'd rather blame it on evil guns and fool ourselves into believing we can ban certain objects and everyone will play nice.

Living in the PRK myself it is fairly ridiculous with the CA gun laws. If you really need a high-cap magazine you can go to another state and purchase one. The gun laws realistically don't do anything to impede criminals they just make it harder for law abiding civilians. Also with the high cap mag ban it just makes me look at bigger rounds when I go gun shopping. Instead of getting a 9mmP you might look at .45 instead. I would move if my job wasn't so good. However it is and I just grin an bear it. The mish-mash of gun laws between different states kind of makes it difficult for the law-abiding gun owners.
