California drivers.. Did I violate any traffic laws?

So I stopped behind a school bus and it extended the stop sign. I waited a couple of seconds behind the bus until it pull back the stop sign and then I just pass it. Would this violate any driving laws?

Don't think so. I havent seen a school bus do that for years now though.

Was the school bus still flashing red lights? If not, then you did fine.

I can't recall, but it pull in the stop sign. I just thought I can go if it didn't extend the stop sign anymore.

lol seriously? So the bus was still flashing its red lights and you passed it? What if the sign extend thingy was broken? It's a free for all? lol

And yes, it's illegal.

I can't recall the lights. I was behind the school bus and the stop sign extended. A second later the sign was pull back in so I knew it was working correctly. I really can't recall the lights.

Yea red lights flashing = stop for both directions of traffic regardless of that little stop sign's position. Should be a nice $450+ fine I'd expect.

I'm just hassling you. So... you get a ticket or get honked at or are you just feeling guilty?

I didn't get honked at. I don't know if it is guilt since I can't recall whether the lights were flashing or not. Just that the stop sign pulled back in.

If the flashers are going it is illegal. Get caught doing it here it's the same as being charged with aggressive driving, i.e. road rage. Massive fine and a ton of points that will shoot your insurance through the roof.

you should just turn yourself in! running over a kid getting off a school bus and just going around it when the stop sign was out! holy moly!
