Calculus + calcuators

I have a ti-84

to find a derivative with it i punch in

nderiv(f(x),x,upperlimit,lower limit. right?

then for integratl its


fnInt(f(x),x,upper,lower. right?

and how do i do extrema?

Also a Ti-83 / TI-84 can only do derivatives at a point, it cannot get the function.

The Ti-89 can do a ridiculous amount of things. It's a different beast.

And don't even get me started on Maple or Mathematica software.

i ment f(x) as the fuction i insert, but is the setup right? I need it for 3 problems on my test tomarow that are calculator problems. i do everything else by hand.

I have a TI-89 titanium I think, with USB.

It can do almost everything I think - possibly too much stuff

i think you should look in the manual

usually the manuals have the proper format for commands in the calculator

"Nderiv(f,x,a)" reads like we are supposed think of f '(a): "derivative of fwith respect to x at a" and "fnInt(f ,x,a,b)" reads "integral of f w.r.t. x from x = a to b."

correct, you need a T-89 or greater to get the function as an answer. The Ti 86 and below can only do derivative value at a specific point.
