I do love quiche. I'll be whipping up some leek and chevre mini-quiches tomorrow night for a potluck on Friday. Yum yum!

Cheese cake is pretty much my favorite dessert, so since it's a pie I vote pie.

While you have a well formulated rant on your hands, I have to disagree and declare that ice cream cake is, in fact, a fantastic hybrid of two scrumptious desserts, a "best of both worlds" if you will. Also, it has those yummy little cookie pieces .. faaaannntastic! You are right, it is barely ice cream, it is most definitely not cake, it is, in fact, the best of each!

You should check your sources regarding the food classification of cheesecake.

It is telling that the greatest 'cake' is actually a pie.

I think the answer is simple.

In some instances, Cake > Pie
ie: Black Forest Cake > Banana Cream Pie.

In Some Instances, Pie > Cake
ie: Coconut Custard Pie > German Chocolate Cake

In Some Instance, Pie = Cake
ie: Cherry Pie = Strawberry Shortcake
