Cake vs. Pie...the final showdown!

If it doesn't come down to Carrot Cake vs. Pecan Pie the whole thing is fixed. I'm preemptively declaring shennanigans!

So much fail, KT. 🙁

Ice Cream Cake is a failed attempt to bring a dessert accompaniment to the forefront of dessertdom. It is an abortion of a dessert that has nothing to do with the true art of baking, developed by miscreant morons that were unable to prepare a proper dessert. It should be stricken from the Earth. It is barely ice cream, it is not cake, what the hell is it? It's a failed science experiment is what it is, like 3D movies.

your rant impresses me, and I am starting to take your side with pie. especially with the whole "birthday cake" debacle in that bracket.

I think the answer is simple.

In some instances, Cake > Pie
ie: Black Forest Cake > Banana Cream Pie.

In Some Instances, Pie > Cake
ie: Coconut Custard Pie > German Chocolate Cake

In Some Instance, Pie = Cake
ie: Cherry Pie = Strawberry Shortcake

This is all about sweet pies, not savory. If we're going for savory, we might as well include all the yummy creations the Brits and Aussies have - Steak & Guinness, pork pies, kidney pies, etc.

/off to find an international pole :hmm:

And thus is another reason why pie > cake. The only savory cakes are the crappy fruitcakes people recycle for years as doorstops.

And I only say savory because they certainly aren't sweet.
