Caffeine pills - useful?

I've been on the unfortunate end of having recieved a whole load of homework this week which has caused my sleep hours to deteriorate dramatically. This is also homecoming week, and tomorrow's SAT's. Pretty much, I'm about to die. I need somethign to wake me up tomorrow morning and a hot shower and a cup of coffee isn't gonna cut it. I realize caffeine pills may be harmful, i don't really know much about them, but i'm willing to risk a small amount of body harm for 4-5 hours of alertness, then i can go home, goto homecoming, and then sleep all of sunday and hope that i'm not tired as hell monday.

just take a bunch of caffeine pills to keep you going on saturday...then sleep sunday and ditch school monday

if you have the time to sleep all day sunday, then why can't you just save whatever work was going to be in those couple hours for then? BTW, i recommend chugging a 2 liter code red when you start feeling drowsy

take too much caffine and the effect won't be perkiness, it'll be nausa, jitters and other fun stuff. caffine doesn't do that much to keep you awake either.

I would recommend against it. I know people who have taken caffiene pills and they become dependent on them just to function. The caffiene becomes less and less effective, so the dosages keep getting higher. And soon it gets to a point where it's dangerous.

Cafeine pills need to be taken rectally for maximum absorption. It gets to the blood stream faster and more directly. I used to take these before major exams, it helped me stay awake and alert. Just remember not to sneeze or cough because the pills don't do any good outside the body.

LMAO!

avoid them, they work but give u the jitters and sometimes adversely affect ur stomach. Exercising might help u stay awake but goood luck.

I was able to stay up during summerschool for an unhealthy amount of hours without any caffeine. You dont need it, seriously. I just knew i had to do this stuff or i would fail miserably and i passed with pretty good grades. I never even got on this forum to post because i had no time! Seriously, i was up for 63 hours working on schoolwork STRAIGHT. It was abosultey disgusting but i was completely wiped by the end but never got a soda or anything. Im never going to take a college summer class again, atleast not two, and definatley not ones so bloody early in the morning (7am to noon). That wasnt exactly willpower, it was stupidity on my part for THAT long but if you know you absolutley need to do it you'll find a way and thats the only way i could.

There's a joke or two in there somewhere but I'll be damned if I'm going root around your rectum to pull out a one liner or two !

Everybody except a few people I know are addicted to soda, coffee or anything with caffeine in it. That is the way modern America is too. I never drink stuff with caffeine nor have I ever. I am glad to know that there is someone in America who isn't a drug addict. I really wish they'd tax stuff like this because it would be a hell of a way to make the government money off peoples' addictions.

didn't know this was such a common thing. i took them back in high school and started shaking like a mofo. that and it made my pee smell funny 😱 is that you peter?

I have some caffeine pills. They do an ok job of keeping you awake and aware, but you're tired and you won't have the concentration you're looking for. Each pill is supposed to contain as much caffeine as two cups of coffee. Taking more than recommended dosage is just asking for trouble. You'd be super awake feeling sick as a dog.

Yes caffeine can and will make you fell like crap if you take to much, but it DOSE work. Remember, when you actually have time to sleep you wont be able to because of the caffeine, dont start a bad cycle, just do what you can homework wise.

Caffeine pills are for kids. Pop ephedrine (sp?) pills.

epehdra will also kill you. fda banned it pre 1994 but it was unbanned when a law was passed saying they could not regulate herbal supplements.
