Well there was this study that showed caffeine just prior to exercise helped produced an extra effort in muscle contractions, i.e. you could lift more and faster for a short time.

I don't know about that off the top of my head, but it does help your body spare glycogen in favor of burning fat during long outings (which is why I'm a fan).

..thismorning I grinded and brewed Yemen Mocha Ultra Dark and added 1 scoup of Vanilla Nut whole bean and grinded the whole works up and brewed a full pot o coffee from it. As soon as it's done it then goes into a pre heated stainless steele thermos for me to have all morning...it's good. Black no sugar. :D

You have to consume a shitload to have heart issues. I'm sure I'd be over the allowable USA Cycling federation limit if I got to that point.

Yeah, if you had a healthy heart to start with, but if you have a heart murmur or something to that effect, bad things can still happen.
