My suspicion is also that more than three people running that academy should have been canned, like maybe all of them instead.
 
Having seen the picture and others from the real deal, I'm not convinced this was that and not just some sort of generic hand raising wave. I'll have to defer to the Gov'nuh hoping he has done interviews.

Good. Anyone stupid or evil enough to be honoring Nazis cannot serve the public trust. They're probably now on a short list of judicial nominations for repugs, but I hope they get to wear this shame for the rest of their lives. Should be banned from public service for life. Hell, anyone who loves Nazis this much should get immediate Aldo The Apache treatment IMO. Wear those swastikas with pride at the homeless shelter fucksticks.

It also seems that the only time they face punishment is during probationary periods for new hires. Once they've become established, forget about forcing people to take responsibility for their actions on the job.

I thought ths same thing. Once they get into the system the union usually comes to their rescue. You don't get that luxury as a new cadat. Think about teachers. When they get tenure it can very difficult to fire incompentant teachers. It's why most schools will let go teachers right before tenure.

The story is this.
Members of the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation Basic Training Class 18 staged a photo with one arm raised with the text above that reads "HAIL BYRD!" .
Under ALL circumstances, that exhibits poor judgement, lack of professionalism and that photo goes against the stated ideals of the academy.
Since it is inexcusable behavior for professionals who have a serious responsibility, they were given the boot.
