I need a free program that has a grid and uses ft/inch.

UnrealED is great, with the X Y Z cameras, but doesn't have ft/inch units.
Blender also lacks ft/inch units, and the camera is freaky.
Sketchup is nice and easy to use, but has no grid.

Suggestion?

There are tons of plugins that add features not included in Sketchup. Here's one that lets you add a grid to any plane.

You can download a free trial good for 30 days of autocad lt from autodesk.

Or one of the student versions, same as full version but work has a banner to prevent use in commercial work.
