Cacheman...

I've used this program on my old computer, but when I tried using it on my newly built one (at settings that are sort of a blend of the "3D Gamer", "Multimedia", and "Power User" presets with "unload DLLs" turned off and "conservative swap file usage" turned on) I saw a 100 point decrease in 3DMark 2001. And when I set it to the "3D Gamer" preset, I saw a 50 point decrease (not much, really, but one would expect an increase). There are obviously other computer functions that must benefit from using Cacheman that don't relate to 3D Mark in any way, but what exactly are these? Also, what would be a good "scheme" to use for a 1.33 GHz Athlon with 256MB Crucial RAM and a Radeon 64MB SE? I'm running Windows 98, BTW.

Thanks in advance,

All Cacheman changes are your VCache settings. Meaning it's basically just tweaking memory settings/usage. Which can result in better performance in Windows and various applications.
