I am building a new system, and have decided on everything except cables. I will have a raid motherboard so there will be 4 IDE connectors and 4 IDE devices (two hard drives, DVD, and CD-RW). I want to use flat (I'm still not sold on round) ATA 133 cables with only two connectors, since I have no need for cables with three connectors.

I am getting my parts from NewEgg, but they don't have any cables like I want. Is any brand better than another??? Any idea where I can get high quality cables like this???? Thanks

Are you sure? In flat ATA 133, I only found three connector cables, not two connector. :( The only two connector IDE cables I saw were 18in. round ATA 100, but I will look again.

I looked again, and if they are there, I can't find them. :( Anyone else know where I can get them?? Are they available at all??

If no one knows if they are available, then I just had an idea-- can I take three connector cables and using a razor blade, carfully cut the wire off at the slave connector, getting rid of the master connector, and then use the slave connector for the master???? Will this work???
