Cable Modems

A while back there were some posts about getting cheap cable modems. I didn't pay much attention because I liven in an area without cable modem service. Now I have moved into a neighborhood with cable modem access.

If anyone has info about the cable modem deals can you post it in here?

My turn..

Hey llamahead, search for a thread titled "I WANNA". It is a thread that you use when you want or seek a deal, rather than posting good deal..

Secondly, search for "Toshiba". There have been deals recently posted regarding the Toshiba PCX modem (most recently @ COMP USA)..

Lastly, think about this decision. Yes, it is nice to own a cable modem, because you can save money on every bill. But if anything ever breaks with the modem, it's your responsibility to get it fixed on your own. Your ISP may or may not help you if you own your own modem. Personally, I lease my modem -- it may cost me $10 more a month, but I have the security of knowing if anything goes wrong the modem (power spike, bad modem), it's my ISP's responsibility to fix the modem or give me a new one.

CompUSA has the Toshiba 1100 on sale until close of business for 199.00 with a 30.00 rebate.....total 169.00....I save 15.00 a month since I bought mine in December...I paid 149.00 after rebates....
