alright everyone, i am getting cable internet service thru Mediacom. they say the only modems that are compatible with their service is an RCA (any model) or a Motorola Surfboard 2000-4000. do either of these companies make external cable modems, and where on earth can i get one other than thru mediacom?
 
I own a Motorola Surboard 4100 and it works great. I think you can find them just about anywhere in the $150 range.
 
I would think so...It's one of Motorola's latest models. I think they have a 4101 now. Check with your cable company to make sure.
