Cable Modem

Which is faster the ethernet connection or the USB connections. Finally bought one tired of getting ripped off by the Cable Provider.

Thanks

They are theoretically the same ( you wouldn't notice the difference), but in actual practice ethernet is much faster because usb uses your cpu cycles which bogs down your overall system. So use ethernet avoid usb if u can.

Ethernet doesnt require any drivers either, in either case the internet connection is much slower than either.

Hmm? my onboard marvell ethernet gets updated driver from windows update all the time. And not sure what you mean in second part, no matter which one you choose it will be slower than the other?😕

USB requires driver files for the cable modem

Ethernet does not

always go ethernet, its cheaper, you can run it longer, and it is easier to network

He means that the internet connection isn't fast enough to use the entire bandwidth on either usb or ethernet.
So you wont see an increase or decrease in speed no matter which one you use.
