<< Ya, funny thing is, that T1 costs an arm and a leg and it isn't very fast by today's standards.

I'm sure your Cable modem is faster, and if you knew how much they were paying for that T1 your mouth would hit the floor.

That's true, but T1 lines are point-to-point connections and offer a lot more reliability than cable modems and DSL. That's why a lot of large organizations still prefer them.

It's a no brainer, but if you still have concerns, find out where you can see a demo.

Cable modem + cell phone = one happy SUO.

When I moved into this apartment, Bell Atlantic wouldn't give m DSL without active home phone service. I guess I could have gotten a fax line, but PFFT! A few other companies say that they can offer me DSL without the landline, but now price I've seen makes it worthwhile.

SSP and Yzzim, Having your neighbors as subcribers is not really going to matter. You are all on the same node and that node will cover a few neighborhoods so unless you consider neighbors, people who live five miles away from your home. I am the node with the most amount of subcribers of all the nodes the cable company has set up and I dont really noticed the throughput slowing down in peak usage but noticed a delay in page requests.

I have had mine for four years now. I would not give it
up for anything. There is a lot to be said about SPEED and
a CONSTANT connection. Go check out this site on Cable and DSL
Tweaks. Will make it even faster..

Generally I think its good, although sometimes it can be worse than 56k for online gaming because *some* have major problems with packetloss.
