Cable modem & Directv using a single coaxial line

A couple friends of mine has both RoadRunner & Directv using the same line + special splitter.
Be aware that directv's coaxial line has DC power - avoid using the regular cable splitter, else you
may get zapped!!!

If you put your tounge on metal that is below freezing, you might get stuck.

Now that's what I call a sticky situation.

I don't understand this at all. So he's a subscriber to both roadrunner and directv but he gets them both on one line? How? Doesn't one go from the cable box outside, to the cable modem and doesn't one go from the satellite dish to the satellite receiver box? Maybe your friend's lying...
