I'm going to share a cable connection among 2 computers with a Netgear RT314. I was wondering if you needed a crossover wire to connect the cable modem to the WAN port? If so, where can I get a crossover cable? I've already went to Home Depot for the patch cables, but they don't have crossover cables. Thanks for the help.

if i remember correctly, you only need straight thru patch cable. in case you need cross-over, you can get them at compusa, fry's, etc.

You don't need a cross over cable. A regular ethernet cable will work fine.

A straight thru cable is needed.

The RT311 came with a crossover cable because it is a single port router and is needed if you wanted to hook the LAN port directly to a computer.
