http://www.softwareandstuff.com/product2581.html Here is a cable modem for $20. Shipping is kind of steep at $11 ground. Not sure if this is compatible or even a good deal, but it would probably work for many people. Unfortunately for me, ATT lowered the cable box rental fee to almost nothing, so it isn't worth the gamble.

hmm I wonder where you'd keep the auto lockout tool...perhaps the trunk of the car??

lol! No no.. You keep the auto lockout tool in your inside pockets of your trench coat.. Of course for legitimate purposes.

You shouldn't post this deal as $19.95 in the thread subject when you've clearly identified in your opening message that S&H is $11. That makes this deal $30.95. Furthermore, this is for a REFURB'd modem w/ a 30 day warranty (something you neglected to mention in your opening message).

If you're willing to pay $31 for a REFURB'd 3COM 3CR29210 cable modem (w/ 30 day warranty), here's a better deal on the same brand and model cable modem from TechDepot:

3COM 3CR29210 Cable Modem, OPEN BOX (missing UPC CODE) w/ FULL 5 YEAR MANUFACTURER's WARRANTY @ $29.95 shipped FREE. If the modem you receive is defective, TechDepot will issue you an RMA with a PRE-PAID UPS SHIPPING LABEL (they'll e-mail you the SHIPPING LABEL).

*EDIT* Forgot to mention, TechDepot (as of this posting) only has 5 of these modems left.
*EDIT2* Fixed TechDepot link. Also, only 1 modem left @ TechDepot (as of this update).
*EDIT3* Actually, the model at SoftwareAndStuff (in the original post) is a 3COM CMX 2940. The TechDepot one is an OfficeConnect one (newer model I believe which is DOCSIS 1.0 compliant but DOCSIS 1.1 capable. Since 3COM doesn't make cable modems anymore, good luck finding a firmware upgrade to make it DOCSIS 1.1).

If you don't mind waiting for a rebate, this deal in this thread is still going on. It's for a BRAND NEW D-Link DCM-200 Cable modem for $29.95AR. The rebate offer expires 03/01/2003, so if you're interested in this, decide soon.

I'm switching over to cable internet on Tuesday and this will save me $3 a month. I'm local so I can just drive down to the store to pick it up.

wluk, if you're asking about the DLink DCM 200, I've used it for 2 weeks with Adelphia Powerlink and it works fine.
