Cable Management

My PSU is attached below my case and I have to attach a 4 PIN power plug to the socket near my CPU. It almost doesn't reach up to the plug and it wraps around my whole motherboard and components... (not really good cable management)

The plug is thin enough to go behind the motherboard (in the space where the copper standouts sit), but is it safe to put the wire there?

There are some metal pins on the motherboard....

And there's some type of cloth surrounding the wires....

I think it's not a problem, the cloth means the cables are sleeved, this is also to prevent from cable clutter. Although I doubt anything will happen, I'm not 100% sure, what case are we talking about anyways ? CM690 ? P182 ? Someone on this forum will be able to tell you. You could also consider buying an extension cable for the 4 pin power plug, those come pretty cheap anyways.

Yes, the case model will be helpful, but I don't think you're going to have a problem running that cable behind the motherboard.
I had a 690 & a P180B, but was using a 520HX & an IP35-E. The connector was in a similar place & the cable had no trouble reaching. Now when I switched to the MSI P35Neo2-FR, I had to buy an extension. I think it was around $12 shipped.

Shouldn't be a problem. I've been looking for tricks for my up coming build. I stumbled upon this thread on another forum. They show lots of examples of people doing just the thing you are talking about.

check out our cable management stick at the top of the thread!
